For the very first time in European lacrosse history, an international box lacrosse tournament for young players was held as the U19 European Lacrosse Challenge in Prague – Malešice, the Czech Republic. The tournament is open for players younger than 20 years old.

With a rich history of box lacrosse in the Czech Republic, the Czech Lacrosse Union came with the idea to start an international competition in this age category. We truly believe that this historical moment will be the beginning of new tradition that young teams from as many possible European countries will regularly attend this competition.

The tournament was organized by a Czech lacrosse team TJ Malešice, one of the founders of lacrosse in the Czech Republic and one of the most successful teams in the Czech lacrosse history.

The tournament was held at TJ Malešice arena where the first box lacrosse game was played more than thirty years ago. This legendary place has been newly refurbished with new turf, boards with plexiglass around the field and new lightings.
